The new module of the Cihangir Yoga 300 Hours Master Path to Yoga Program, Sanskrit for Yogis will be held online in November with Sugata Duygu Akartuna. This module takes both advanced and curious yoga students on an enjoyable discovery in Sanskrit, the language of Yoga.

In the program, you will practice the Sanskrit alphabet, letters, and phonetics. You will learn the correct pronunciation of yoga postures (asanas) that are difficult to pronounce. You will have an idea about the mythological stories that inspired some of the selected yoga poses. You will reinforce the meanings of concepts, sutras, and mantras that we frequently encounter in the history and philosophy of yoga by practicing their proper pronunciation.

This module will be given by Sugata Duygu Akartuna, who spent the last 10 years of her life at Amritapuri Ashram.

This program counts for CY 300-Hour Master Path to Yoga  However, it can also be taken as a single module.

About Sugata Duygu

Sugata Duygu Akartuna first discovered yoga in 2003 with a yoga set gifted by her mother. This initial experience was followed by various courses, trainings, and studied with instructors from different yoga traditions across multiple countries. In 2014, after suffering a neck injury in an accident, she paused her yoga āsana practice and sought refuge at her Guru Amma’s āśram, Amritapuri. In 2017, she completed her Master's degree in Indian Philosophy and Positive Psychology at Amrita University, India’s top private university. Concurrently, she visited Ludwig Maximilian University as a guest researcher to further her studies in Patañjali’s Yoga Sūtras and the Saṃskṛta language. As a Phd Scholar she still studies Saṃskṛta with Dr. A.M. Ruppel. Sugata offers training in haṭha yoga, yin yoga, meditation, yoga theory, and Indian philosophy.
