The Psoas - The Muscle of the Soul and the Deep Connector for Physical BalanceSaturday, November 23, CY Maçka
14.00-18.00
Fee: 1600 TL
The psoas muscle, known as the body's deepest stabilizing muscle, extends from the lower spine to the inner hip, connecting to the upper thigh bones. It’s the only muscle that links the upper and lower body, playing a critical role in both physical movement and emotional balance.
The psoas is one of the primary muscles supporting the spine, allowing us to walk, run, and sit, and is often referred to as the "muscle of the soul."
For yoga practitioners and athletes, maintaining a healthy and balanced psoas is essential, as its flexibility and strength enhance freedom of movement while supporting physical alignment. Especially in deep yoga practices and intense athletic activities, taking care of the psoas can improve physical endurance and reinforce mental and emotional stability.
A balanced and healthy psoas supports proper posture and contributes to the regulation of the nervous system and emotional well-being. When the psoas becomes tense, compressed, or shortened, it creates an imbalance in the body’s core structure.
This can lead to issues such as lower back pain, postural misalignments, neck pain, respiratory problems, emotional tension, and feelings of depression. Such imbalances can weaken the connection between the body’s overall stability and the nervous system, ultimately reducing the quality of life.
In this workshop, we will explore the psoas muscle, uncovering its impact on our physical and emotional well-being.
During the workshop, you will:
• Discover the anatomy of the psoas and its profound role in the body,
• Understand how tension, compression, and shortening of the psoas affect physical balance,
• Learn how the psoas, as the "muscle of the soul," holds emotional trauma and tension,
• Experience therapeutic yoga flows to release the psoas through various poses,
• Explore the connection between fascia and the psoas and apply deep tissue release techniques.
If you wish to gain a deep understanding of the psoas muscle and achieve balance on both a physical and emotional level, this workshop is for you.
